Chap. 1247.—An ACT for the relief of W. J. J. Thrift, a disabled Confederate
soldier.

Whereas W. J.J. Thrift, of Gloucester county, was a true and faithful
Confederate soldier, was loval to Virginia in the war between the states,
ix now aged. infirm, and disabled to perform manual labor, is poor and
necdy, and is deserving of aid from Virginia—
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That if the
county court of Gloucester county shall examine into the condition of
said W. J. J. Thrift, and it shall appear that the facts are as herein-
before alleged, and that he is deserving of aid from Virginia, and if
sald court shall certifv the facts to the auditor of public accounts,
thereupon the said auditor is hereby authorized and directed to place
the name of said W. J.J. Thrift, as so certified, on the pension list, and
to pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars, on and after April first,
nineteen hundred.
