Chap. 1211.—An ACT for the relief of Lucy Caroline Hudson, widow of a
Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas IL. R. Hudson was a true and gallant soldier during the
war; and
Whereas the said Iu. R. Hudson has died, leaving in destitute circum-
stances a widow, Lucy Caroline Hudson, who is old and feeble; there-
fore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the county
court of Albemarle county shall examine into the condition of the
above-named Lucy Caroline Hudson, and should it be found that she is
old and in need and that her husband, L. R. Hudson, was true and
loyal to the state of Virginia during the war, and was a Confederate
soldier, and that his said widow is needy and poor and should receive aid
from the state of Virginia, and if the county court of Albemarle county
shall send a certificate of the facts to the auditor of public accounts of
Virginia, then the auditor of public accouonts is directed to place the
name of Lucy Caroline Hudson on the pension list, and pay her
annually the sum of fifteen dollars, on and after the first day of April,
nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
