Chap. 1189.—An ACT for the relief of W. T. Dixon, a blind Confederate soldier.

Whereas W. T. Dixon was a true and gallant Confederate soldier of
twenty-second Virginia infantry, Heth brigade, A. P. Till division, and
was true and loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas the said Dixon has heen loval to this state ever since the
war: and
Whereas he is now totally blind, worthy and needy. being unable hy
reason of such affliction to engage in any work by which to support
himself: therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon proofs
of the fact as above, before the corporation court of Lynchburg, and the
certificate of the same to the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, the
said auditor shall place the name of the said W. T. Dixon upon the
pension roll of the state and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars,
on and after the first of April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
