Chap. 1175.—An ACT for the relief of John Sneed, a disabled Confederate
soldier.

Whereas John Sneed, a disabled Confederate soldier, is suffering
from old age and poverty, and was a true and gallant soldier during the
war, and was loval to Virginia; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Albemarle shall examine into the condition of the
above-named John Sneed, a Confederate soldier, and should it be
found that he was true and loyal to Virginia through the war, and
that he is now afflicted and disabled, and incapacitated for manual
labor by reason of injury, disease, or old age; that he is poor and needy
and should receive aid from Virgima, and if the county court of Albe-
marle shall send a certificate of the fact to the auditor of public ac-
counts in Virginia, then the auditor of publie accounts is directed to
place the name of John Sneed on the pension list, and pay him an-
nually the sum of fifteen dollars, on and after the first day of April,
nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
