Chap. 1143.—An ACT to validate acknowledgments to deeds of trusts taken
by clerks of county courts who were trustees in said deeds.

Whereas numerous deeds of trust conveying land in the state of Vir-
zinia have been acknowledged before and certified by clerks of courts
who were trustees in said deeds; and
Whereas a doubt has arisen as to the authority of such clerks to take
and certify acknowledgments to deeds in which they, the said clerks,
were trustees; therefore
1. Be it enacted bv the general assembly of Virginia, That all certi-
ficates of acknowledgments of deeds of trust heretofore made before
and certified by such cler ks, being trustees in said deeds, shall be held
valid and effective in all respects, if otherwise valid according to the
law then in force.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
