Chap. 1105.—An ACT for the relief of W. T. Childress, of Appomattox county.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas W. T. Childress, of Appomattox county, was severely
wounded while serving as a Confederate soldier in the Davidson battery
of light artillery; and :
Whereas he has ever since the war suffered, and still suffers, from the
effect of said wound, and is incapacitated to perform manual labor; and
Whereas he is blind in one eye and is a very old and infirm man—
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the auditor
of public accounts be, and he is hereby, directed to list the said W. T.
Childress for a pension of fifteen dollars, when the facts as herein
alleged shall be proven before the county court of Appomattox county
and certified to the auditor of public accounts by said court.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
