Chap. 1088.—An ACT for the relief of William W. Prease, an ex-Confederate
soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas William W. Prease, a disabled Confederate soldier, was a
member of company H, thirty-fourth Virginia regiment, and was a true
and gallant soldier in the late war, was true to Virginia; and
Whereas the said William W. Prease, while in the active discharge
of his duty in the service of the Confederate states in the battle of Seven
Pines on the thirtieth day of May, eighteen hundred and sixty-two, was
wounded in the side and in the arm, from which wound he has become
paralyzed and is helpless and without means of support; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assemblv of Virginia, That the said
William W. Prease shall be permitted to prove before the county court
of Bedford county the facts stated above, or any other material facts,
‘by the best evidence obtainable, and upon such proof being adduced

before the said court, said court shall certify the same to the auditor
of public accounts, who is hereby authorized to place the name of the
said William W. Prease upon the pension rolls of the state, and to draw
his warrant annually in due form of law in favor of said William W.
Prease for the payment of a pension of fifteen dollars per annum.
&. This act shall be in force from its passage.
