Chap. 1072.—An ACT to correct clerical errors in chapter 796, acts 1897 and
1898, for relief of C. E. Atwell.

Whereas it was the intention of an act of general assembly of Vir-
vinia, session eighteen hundred and ninety-seven and eighteen hundred
and ninety-eight, to allow the auditor of public accounts to increase the
pension of C. BE. Atwell, a totallv disabled Confederate soldier, of Char-
lotte county, from fifteen to thirty dollars per annum on proof of
alleged total disability of the said Atwell before the county judge of
Charlotte; and
Whereas the auditor of publie accounts has refused to do so because
of lack of authority from the defective wording of the act; therefore,
1. Be it enacted bv the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby, directed and authorized
to enroll the name of C. E. Atwell as entitled to receive thirty dollars
per annum from April first, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
