CHAPTER 4
An act to amend and re-enact the First, Second, Third,
Fourth and Fifth Sections of the Fourteenth Chapter
of the Code, and for other purposes.
Passed June 22d, 1865.
Src. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly, That
the first, second, third, fourth and fifth sections of the four-
teenth Chapter of the Code of Virginia be, and the same
are hereby revived and re-enacted, and all acts and ordi-
nances, coming within the provisions of this act, are hereby
repealed ; but nothing in this act shall be so construed as to
authorize the appointment of more than one clerk in the
Second Auditor’s Office.
Src. 2. Be tt further enacted, That when any clerk,
provided for in either of the sections named in the first sec-
tion of this act, shall, by direction of the Governor, have
performed the duties of such office, his compensation shall
be computed from the date of his appointment; and that
the salaries of the Auditor and Treasurer, under this act,
shall commence with the current quarter.
Sxo. 3. This act shall be in force from its passage.

Passed June 22d, 1860.
Sxo. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Virginia, That the thirty-sixth section of the eighty-eighth
chapter of the Code of eighteen hundred and sixty be
amended and re enacted so as to read as it now*stands, ex-
cept that in the third line of said section the words “ at
Richmond one cent,” shall be stricken out.
Sxo. 2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
