CHAPTER 11

An act to amend and re-enact the First Section of an act
entitled “An act extending the time for the qualification
of certain civil officers of the cities of Norfolk and
Portsmouth,” passed, February twenty-eighth, eighteen
hundred and sixty-five.

Passed June 22d, 1865.

Src. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Virginia, That the first section of an act entitléd “ An act
extending the time for the qualification of certain civil
officers of the cities of Norfolk and Portsmouth,” passed,
February twenty-eighth, one thousand eight hundred and
ro ee be amended and re-enacted so as to read as fol-
ows :

“Sxo. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Virginia, That the time prescribed by existing laws as the
period within which the said officers, respectively, are re-
quired to qualify, be, and the same is hereby extended until
the first day of August, eighteen hundred and sixty-five.”

Szo. 2, This act shall be in force from its passage.
