Chap. 111.—An ACT to authorize the Washington and Ohio Railroad
Company to Issue Certificates of Indebtedness in Payment of Claims
against the Company.
Approved February 23, 1875.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly ‘of Virginia,
That the Washington and Ohio Railroad Company be, and
they are hereby authorized to issue to contractors and other
creditors of the company, their certificates of indebtedness
for the athount of their claims against the company, to an
amount not excceding, in all, one hundred thousand dollars,
which certificates shall bear interest at the rate of six per
centum per annum, and shall be payable twelve months from
their date. The said certificates shall be receivable for tolls
on passengers and freights, and for all other dues to the
company, and for the bonds of the company when presented
in even sums of one hundred, five hundred, or one thousand
dollars, at the market price of said bonds.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
