CHAPTER 27
An Act to amend and reenact § 24-194 of the Code of Virginia, relating
respectively to appointment of clerks for voting places. a Bi
[Hi 24]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
a That § 24-194 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 24-194. The electoral board of each city and county shall at the
same time of the appointment of the judges as provided in the preceding
section appoint * as many clerks as may be requisite for each place of
voting, whose terms of office shall be coincident with the judges, to whom
shall be administered by the judges, or either of them, or by the officer
swearing the judges, the same oath as that taken by the judges. If any
person so appointed is for any reason unable to serve at any election during
his term of office the electoral board may at any time appoint a substitute
who shall hold office and serve for the unexpired term.
