CHAPTER 638
An Act to require the State Library Board to have prepared and to erect
an historical marker near Tye River in Amherst or in Nelson County,
and to appropriate funds. CH 886}

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. §1. The State Library Board is hereby directed to have prepared
and erected prior to June eleventh, nineteen hundred and sixty-four, in
commemoration of the action at Tye River as a part of the Lynchburg
Campaign of 1864 in The War For Southern Independence, an historical
marker in an appropriate location near Highway Twenty-nine in Amherst
County or in Nelson County.
2. There is hereby appropriated to the State Library Board out of the
general fund of the State treasury a sum sufficient, not exceeding three
hundred dollars, for the purposes set forth in this act.
8. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
