Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 54-276.9 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
follows:
§ 54-276.9. No person licensed to practice medicine or dentistry in
this State, who in good faith renders emergency care to any person injured
as a result of a roadside or highway accident, at the scene of such accident,
shall be liable for any civil damages as a result of any act or omission in
rendering such emergency care; provided, however, that no established
doctor-patient relationship between practitioner and injured person pre-
existed such emergency treatment.
