An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbere
58-8.1, relating to the definitions of the words “taxes” and “levies’’.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
58-3.1 as follows:

§ 58-3.1. In the construction of this title and of all tax and revenue
statutes the words “taxes” and “levies” shall not include the assessments
for local improvements provided for in Article 2 of Chapter 20 of Title 15,
Article 2 of Chapter 7 of Title 15.1, and Article 8 of Chapter 18 of Title
15.1 of this Code or the charter of any city or town.
