An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding in Chapter 2 of Title 15.1
a section numbered 15.1-73.2, so as to require disclosure, by a member
of the governing body of a political subdivision, of any interest which
he may have in any zoning case pending before such body.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding in Chapter 15.1 a
section numbered 15.1-73.2, as follows:
§ 15.1-73.2. (a) In any zoning case which is pending before the
governing body of any political subdivision in which an individual member
of such governing body owns, or has an interest in, the land to be zoned,
such member shall, prior to any hearing on the matter or at such hearing,
make a full, public disclosure of the exact nature of his interest. For the
purpose of this act, “owning” or “having an interest in*”’” means owner-
ship by such member or any member or members of his immediate house-
hold, or ownership by way of partnership or as holder of stock in a cor-
poration owning such land, directly or indirectly, by such member or
members of his immediate household.
(b) Any person knowingly and willfully violating the provisions of
this act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
