An Act to provide how the office of general registrar may be created tn
certain counties; and to prescribe their powers, duties and compen-
sation.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. §1. The electoral board of any county having a population of not
less than fifteen thousand two hundred nor more than fifteen thousand
five hundred or having a population of more than twenty-five thousand
seven hundred fifty but not more than twenty-five thousand eight hundred
twenty, or having a population of more than twenty-five thousand nine
hundred but not more than twenty-six thousand, or having a population
of more than thirty-one thousand but not more than thirty-one thousand
three hundred, or having a population of more than thirty-eight thousand
but not more than thirty-nine thousand or of any county having a popu.
lation of not less than forty thousand nor more than forty thousand four
hundred may provide for the creation of the office of general registrar of
the county, who shall be in addition to the registrars appointed as pro
vided by law for the several election districts of the county, and who shall
be a discreet citizen, a qualified voter and resident of the county for which
he is appointed and shall possess the qualifications prescribed by law for
registrars.
