CHAPTER 385
An Act to require the Division of Parks of the Department of Conserva-
tion and Economic Development to determine the advisability of a
State park; and to appropriate funds. CH 49]

Whereas, a growing need has developed for additional State parks in
the Commonwealth of Virginia, and
Whereas, no such proper facility is provided in the Smith Mountain-
Leesville Reservoirs area; now therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Division of Parks of the Department of Conservation and
Economic Development is directed to make a study on the advisability of
establishing a State park in the Smith Mountain-Leesville Reservoirs area
of this State and report thereon. The recommendation of the Division shall
include, if the desirability of creating such park is established, the site of
such park. The Division shall complete its study and make its report to the
Governor and the General Assembly not later than October one, nineteen
hundred sixty-five.
§ 2. There is hereby appropriated from the general fund of the
State treasury a sum, not to exceed five thousand dollars, to carry out the
purposes of this act.
