An Act to authorize the State Library Board to erect a certain historical
marker at Elk Creek in Grayson County. ‘S$ 828)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. §1. The State Library Board, from funds provided by law, is hereby
authorized to erect a historical marker at Elk Creek in Grayson County
bearing thereon the following inscription:
Peyton Guyn Hale
Born in Elk Creek, Virginia, June 29, 1821. Member of the House of
Delegates, 1874-1877. Member State Senate, 1879-1882. One of the “Big
Four,” a group which resisted many of the proposals of the Readjusters.
Died in Elk Creek, December 25, 1885.
