CHAPTER 313

An Act to amend and reenact § 15.1-9 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to assistant Commonwealth’s attorneys. S 2011

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 15.1-9 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:

§ 15.1-9. * Every county and city may, with the approval of the
Compensation Board, provide for employing such assistant or assistants
to the Commonwealth’s attorney as in the opinion of the governing body
may be required. Such assistant or assistants shall be appointed by the
Commonwealth’s attorney. The compensation for such assistants to the
Commonwealth’s attorneys shall be as provided for assistants to Com-
monwealth’s attorneys under § 14.1-58.

This section shall not apply to any county having a population of more
than thirty-seven thousand but less than thirty-eight thousand.
