An Act to amend and reenact § 15.1-152 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to jurisdiction, authority and evidence of office of special policemen
in counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 15.1-152 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
is follows:
§ 15.1-152. The jurisdiction and authority of such police shall extend
10 further than the limits of the county in which they are appointed, and
. copy of the order of appointment made by the court, attested by the
lerk of such court, shall in all cases be received as evidence of their official
haracter. But the authority of such police shall extend throughout the
tate when actually in pursuit of persons accused of crime and when
cting under authority of a duly executed warrant for the arrest of persons
ecused of committing crime.
The jurisdiction and authority of such police upon order entered of
ecord by the circuit court of the county, or the judge thereof in vacation,
vay be limited to a specific place or places in such county; may limit the
arrying of weapons by such police; and prescribe the type of uniform,
adge, insignia or identification to be worn or carried by such police to the
xtent that such uniform, badge, insignia or identification shall not
esemble or be in facsimile of the uniform, badge, insignia or identification
f the State Police or that of any sheriff, or member of a police department
2 such county or an adjoining county or city.
However, the jurisdiction and authority of such police upon an order
ntered of record by the circuit court of an adjoining county, or by the
udge thereof in vacation, may be extended into such adjoining county
r into such part thereof as said order may designate, provided such
uthority shall not extend into an incorporated town.
