CHAPTER 11

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
19.1-29.1 relating to the Governor’s authority to appoint conservators
of the peace in State parks.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
19.1-29.1, as follows:

§ 19.1-29.1. The Governor may appoint as a conservator of the
peace any employee of the Division of Parks of the Department of Con-
servation and Economic Development who is recommended by the Direc-
tor of such Department and the State Park Commissioner. The jurisdic-
tion, powers and duties of any person so appointed a conservator of the
peace shall be the same, mutatis mutandis, as those of a conservator of
the peace appointed under § 19.1-28 for the territorial area designated
by the Governor.
