An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section
numbered 29-184.1:1, relating to license tax on dogs in certain cities
and the disposition of proceeds therefrom. rH 35)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a new section
numbered 29-184.1:1 as follows:

§ 29-184.1:1. Notwithstanding the provisions of § 29-184 the gov-
erning body of any city having a population of more than fifty-five thousand
but not more than sixty-one thousand five hundred may, by ordinance,
provide that the amount of the license tax on dogs in such cities shall be
as follows:

For a male dog, not exceeding two dollars and fifty cents.

For an unsexed female dog, not exceeding two dollars and fifty cents.

For other female dogs, not exceeding five dollars.
The funds collected for dog license taxes shall be paid into a special
fund of the city collecting the same and may be disposed of as provided in
§§ 29-206 and 29-209, except that such city shall not be required to remit
any portion of such funds to the State Treasurer.
