Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 38.1-378 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:

§ 88.1-378. The provisions of this article shall not apply to mutual
assessment fire insurance companies *, or to mutual insurance companies
and associations organized under the laws of this State, conducting busi-
ness only in this State, and issuing only policies providing for perpetual
insurance. The provisions of this article shall not apply to marine insur-
ance and motor vehicle and aircraft insurance as defined in this title, nor
to contracts of reinsurance.
