CHAPTER 26
An Act to authorize the State Board of Education with the consent of the
Governor to sell and convey certain real estate held for the use and
benefit of Virginia State College and to appropriate the proceeds
therefrom. [H 49]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1, § 1. The State Board of Education, with the consent of the Governor
in writing, is authorized to sell and convey, by proper deed or other instru-
ment, to the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority for and in
consideration of the sum of twenty-three thousand eight hundred dollars,
all of those certain real properties located within the boundaries of the
said Authority’s Downtown Redevelopment Project in the vicinity of the
four hundred (400) block Bank Street and the four hundred (400) block
Brewer Street in the city of Norfolk, which properties now are held for
the use and benefit of Virginia State College.
2. The proceeds of sale are hereby appropriated to Virginia State Col-
lege to be used for capital improvements as the State Board of Education,
with the approval of the Governor, may direct.
8. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
