An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a section num-
bered 29-161.1, to provide a penalty for any person convicted of trap-
ping, attempting to take by means of a trap, offering for sale, selling,
offering to purchase or purchasing any migratory game birds or con-
victed of possession of any such migratory game birds taken by means
of a trap. rH 892)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a section
numbered 29-161.1, as follows:
§ 29-161.1. Notwithstanding the provisions of § 29-161, as amended,
and § 29-164 of the Code of Virginia, any person convicted of trapping,
attempting to take by means of a trap, offering for sale, selling, offering
to purchase or purchasing any migratory game bird, as defined in § 29-132,
as amended, of the Code of Virginia, or convicted of possessing any such
migratory game bird taken by means of a trap, shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall pay a fine of not less than five hun-
dred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars and may be imprisoned
in jail not exceeding twelve months, either or both.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
