An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding sections numbered 27-
26.1 through 27-26.8, authorizing certain advances by counties to fire
districts, the reimbursement thereof, the expenditure of fire district
funds, and validating certain such expenditures. (H 276]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding sections numbered
27-26.1 through 27-26.3 as follows:
§ 27-26.1. The board of supervisors of any county in this State may
advance funds, not otherwise specifically allocated or obligated, from
the general fund to a fire district to assist the fire district to exercise the
powers set forth in § 27-26.
§ 27-26.2. Notwithstanding the provisions of any law, the governing
body shall direct the treasurer to reimburse the general fund of the county
from the proceeds of any funds to the credit of the fire district, not other-
wise specifically allocated or obligated to the extent that the county has
made advances to the fire district from such general fund to assist the
district to exercise the powers set forth in § 27-26.
§ 27-26.3. The advancement of any funds heretofore advanced from
the general fund by the board of supervisors of any county in this State
for the benefit of a fire district in exercising the lawful powers of such
fire district is hereby validated and confirmed.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
