CHAPTER 53

An Act to amend and reenact § 5 of Chapter XVI of Chapter 578 of the
Acts of Assembly of 1952, approved April 3, 1952, which provided
a new charter for the city of Danville, the section relating to com-
pensation of members of Electoral Board and election officials.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 6 of Chapter XVI of Chapter 578 of the Acts of Assembly of
1952, approved April 3, 1952 be amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 5. The Electoral Board—The council of said city shall have the
right to determine and fix the compensation to be paid to the secretary and
to the members of the Electoral Board of the city and the expenses of said
secretary, and the compensation to the judges, clerks and commissioners
of any election, such compensation and expense allowance not to be less
than the minimum, if any, which may be provided by general law.
