CHAPTER 451
An Act to establish the season for hunting wild male turkeys in certain
counties; prohibit the hunting. capturing or killing of wild turkey
hens; and to provide penalties for violations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. In any county having a population of not less than fifty-five
thousand but not more than sixty-seven thousand and an area of not less
than one thousand square miles, it shall be lawful, notwithstanding any
provision of law or regulation of the Commission of Game and Inland
Fisheries to the contrary, to hunt, kill, take or capture wild male turkeys
during a season to begin on the third Monday of November of each year
and to close upon the last moment of January thirty-one, next.
§ 2. Any person who hunts. pursues, captures, kills, or who attempts
to pursue, capture, or kill any wild turkey hen in any such county at any
time shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished
