CHAPTER 434

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 36-
11.1, to permit compensation of commissioners of housing authorities
in certain counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia: .

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
86-11.1 as follows: ;

§ 36-11.1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, in any coun-
ty having a population of more than ninety thousand which adjoins three
or more cities of the first class the redevelopment and housing authority
of the county may, from funds of the authority and with the approval of
the governing body of the county, pay each such commissioner not exceed-
ing twenty-five dollars for each day or part thereof spent in discharge of
his duties as such commissioner; provided that no such commissioner or
his successor shall be paid more than three hundred dollars in any year.
