CHAPTER 421

An Act to authorize the State Hospital Board under certain conditions to
establish, construct, equip and operate a State hospital within the
geographical limits of certain counties. CH 454]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia as follows:
1. § 1. The State Hospital Board is authorized to establish, construct,
equip and operate within the area composed of the counties of Arlington
and Fairfax, and the cities of Alexandria and Falls Church, a State hos-
pital for the custody, care and treatment of mentally ill and inebriate
pereole Such institution shall have a capacity of at least one hundred
patients.

§ 2. No such hospital shall, however, be established unless the land
on which the same is to be located can be acquired without cost to the
Commonwealth.
