CHAPTER 31

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
58-821.1, to exempt certain establishments operated in connection with
charitable or nonprofit hospitals or auxiliary associations thereof from
taxation as retail merchants. CH 82]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
58-321.1 as follows:

§ 58-321.1. No license as a retail merchant shall be required, by the
State or by any county, city or town, of any charitable or nonprofit hospital
or of any auxiliary association thereof for engaging in the business of
operating a drink and sandwich shop on the premises of any such hospital.
2. This act shall become effective January 1, 1959.
