CHAPTER 16
AN ACT authorizing the Governor to acquire by condemnation proceedings
certain property for needed uses for the seat of government. ge

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. The Governor, on behalf of the Commonwealth, is hereby authorized
to acquire by condemnation proceedings, in the manner and in accordance
with the procedure provided in Title 25 of this Code or in Article 5 of Chap-
ter 1 of Title 33 of this Code, all or any portion of that property located
in Richmond, Virginia, and having as its boundaries the east line of Gover-
nor Street, the south line of Broad Street, the west line of the right of
way of the Richmond-Petersburg Turnpike and the north line of Franklin
Street for needed uses for the seat of State government.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
