CHAPTER 108
An Act to amend and reenact Chapter III of Chapter 168 of the Acts of
Assembly of 1874-75, approved March 11, 1875, as amended, which
provided a charter for the city of Petersburg, by adding a section
numbered 6-c, authorizing the city council to supply water for use
outside the corporate limits of the city. rH 250]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That Chapter III of Chapter 163 of the Acts of Assembly of 1874-75,
approved March 11, 1875, as amended, be amended by adding a section
numbered 6-c as follows:
§ 6c. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this charter, the
council shall have power, under such terms and conditions as it may pre-
scribe, to furnish and supply city water to natural persons and corpora-
tions for use on property situated not only within the corporate limits of
the city but within an area ten miles outside of the corporate limits of the
city; provided that the rates for water used and supplied outside the cor-
porate limits shall not be less than those charged water users within the
corporate limits of the city.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
