An Act to amend and reenact §§ 1 and 2 of Chapter 46 of the Acts of
Assembly of 1952, approved February 15, 1952, which created the
Newport News Port and Industrial Authority, the sections relating
generally to the creation and naming of the authority —

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That §§ 1 and 2 of Chapter 46 of the Acts of Assembly of 1952, ap-
proved February 15, 1952, be amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 1. There may be created, in the manner hereinafter set forth,
a political subdivision of the Commonwealth, with such public and corpo-
rate powers as are granted in this act, to be known as the *Peninsula Port
and Industrial Authority, hereinafter called the Authority.
§ 2. The Authority may be created by ordinance duly adopted by
the council of the city of Newport News, or together with the councils
af the cities of Hampton and Warwick, or either of them, if such councils
elect to join with the council of the city of Newport News in the creation
af such Authority. Whenever the council or city of Newport News are
referred to in this Act it shall be taken to mean the councils or cities of
Hampton and Warwick, or either of them, if such councils elect to join with
the council of Newport News in the creation of such Authority.
