CHAPTER 29
An Act to authorize the State Board of Education to convey certain prop-
erty of Madison College and to authorize the expenditure of the pro-
ceeds therefrom.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. TheState Board of Education, with the approval of the Governor
in writing, is authorized to convey by proper deed upon such terms and
conditions as the Governor and the State Board of Education deem proper,
all or any portion or portions of that certain lot, piece or parcel of land
owned by Madison College in the city of Harrisonburg and more particu-
larly described as follows:
Beginning at a point, the intersection of the east property line of So.
Main Street and the south property line of East Grace Street, this point
being 1.00 foot east of the sidewalk along Main Street and at the back edge
of the curb on Grace Street; thence proceeding along the south property
line of Grace Street S 46° 01’ E, 340.90 feet to a pin; thence S 46° 59’ E,
337.33 feet to a pin; thence S 43° 01’ W, 5.00 feet to a pin; thence N
46° 59’ W, 337.33 feet to a pin; thence N 46° 01’ W, 305.74 feet to a pin;
thence N 55° 11’ W, 10.30 feet to a pin; thence S 79° 13’ W, 38.70 feet
to a pin on the east property line of So. Main Street; and thence along said
property line of So. Main Street N 40° 04 E, 38.92 feet to the point of be-
ginning, enclosing an area of 3,827.22 sq. ft., more or less.
The proceeds, if any, realized from such conveyance, with the ap-
proval of the State Board of Education and the Governor in writing, may
be used by Madison College for the development of recreational areas and
playing fields on property owned by the college, to purchase other property,
or for other capital improvements. The Attorney General shall approve
all such deeds as to form.
Said conveyance shall only be made to the city of Harrisonburg.
2. Anemergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
