An Act to amend and reenact § 15-754.1 of the Code of Virginia, which
was enacted as § 1 of Chapter 455 of the Acts of Assembly of 1954,
approved April 8, 1954, relating to notice to the governing body and
State Board of Health required prior to the construction of water
supply systems and facilities in certain counties, so as to require
such notice prior to the extension of existing systems. [H 575]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 15-754.1 of the Code of Virginia, which was enacted as
Chapter 455 of the Acts of Assembly of 1954, approved April 3, 1954, be
amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 15-754.1. Any person, firm, corporation or association who or
which proposes to establish a water supply consisting of a well, springs,
or other source and the necessary pipes, conduits, mains, pumping sta-
tions, and other facilities in connection therewith, to serve or to be capable
of serving three or more connections shall notify the State Board of
Health and shall notify in writing the governing body of the county in
which such water system is to be located and shall appear at a regular
meeting thereof and notify such governing body in person.
In any county having a population of more than 70,000 and less than
99,000, no extension of an existing system for the purpose of serving
three or more connections shall be made until a plan of such proposed
extension, with proof of capacity to serve, has been filed with, and permit
for such extension has been obtained from the Sanitation Engineer or
other county official, if any, designated therefor by the Board of Super-
visors.
