with fire insurance.
[H 538]
Approved March 31, 1956
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
88.1-257.1 as follows:
§ 38.1-257.1. The Commission may approve for use in this State
policies or forms for writing at divisible or indivisible rates and premiums
any or all of the kinds of insurance set forth in § 38.1-225 and § 38.1-240,
except workmen’s compensation insurance as defined in § 38.1-17, motor
vehicle insurance as defined in § 38.1-21, and except insurance on or with
respect to operating properties of railroads, in combination with fire
insurance as defined in § 38.1-6. The combination policies or forms pro-
vided for in this section, when approved by the Commission, shall be
under the filing and statistical supervision of such rating or statistical
organizations as may be approved by the Commission or designated by law
for this purpose; provided, however, that notwithstanding the provisions
of § 38.1-271 the rate of each indivisible premium policy and the rate on
the fire and miscellaneous insurance portion on each divisible premium
policy shall, to the extent required by the Commission, be checked for
accuracy by the Virginia Insurance Rating Bureau, except when used
to provide insurance on or with respect to property or risks protected
in whole or in part by automatic sprinklers when such risks are insured
in connection with an inspection service. Such combination policies or
forms shall include the standard provisions, conditions, stipulations and
agreements set forth in § 38.1-866 or such other provisions not less
favorable to the insured as may be approved by the Commission.
