CHAPTER 58
AN ACT to authorize the duly constituted authorities of the Mattaponi
Indian Tribe to convey to the Commonwealth of Virginia, an ease-
ment of right of way for the construction, reconstruction and main-
tenance of a certain highway on the Mattaponi Indian Reservation;
and to authorize the State Highway Commission to construct, recon-
struct and maintain such highway. CH 200]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
l. § 1. The duly constituted authorities of the Mattaponi Indian Tribe
are authorized to convey to the Commonwealth of Virginia such easement
of right of way as may be required by the State Highway Commission
and as may be necessary for the construction, reconstruction and main-
tenance of a highway within the boundaries of the Mattaponi Indian

Reservation; such conveyance shall contain a provision for the reversion
of all such interests as are conveyed thereby to the Mattaponi Indian Tribe
in the event of any use by the Commonwealth other than for such con-
struction, reconstruction and maintenance of such highway.
§ 2. The State Highway Commission is authorized to enter upon
the right of way conveyed in accordance with § 1 of this act, and to con-
struct, reconstruct and maintain such highway, expending for such pur-
pose moneys allocated for the secondary system of State highways in the
county of King William.
