An Act to amend and reenact § 28-157 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
appointment and terms of office of the board of visitors of the Virginia
School for the Deaf and Blind. 18 75)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 23-157 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
follows:

§ 23-157. The board of visitors shall consist of six members. Within
six months preceding July first of each even numbered year, the Governor
shall, by and with the consent of the Senate, appoint three members for
terms of four years each. No person shall be eligible to serve more than two
successive terms; provided, that a person heretofore or hereafter appointed
to fill a vacancy may be appointed for two additional successive terms.
Incumbency during a current term when this amendment takes effect shall
constitute the first of the two successive terms with respect to eligibility
for appointment.
