CHAPTER 16
AN ACT to amend and reenact § 15-828 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to changes of zoning regulations in cities and towns. (H. 87]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
a That § 15-823 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
lows:
§ 15-823. Such regulations, restrictions and boundaries may from
time to time be amended, supplemented, changed, modified or repealed.
In case, however, of a protest against any such proposed change signed
by the owners of twenty per centum or more either of the area * * within
the boundaries of such proposed change or of the area of any lots or
tracts any part of which lies within three hundred feet of such bound-
aries, such change or amendment shall not become effective except by the
favorable vote of three-fourths of all the members of the council or other
governing body of such city or town. The provisions of the preceding
section relative to public hearings and official notice shall apply equally
to all changes or amendments.
