CHAPTER 149
AN ACT to amend and reenact § 6-861 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to negotiable instruments payable to bearer. CH 144]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 6-361 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
follows:
§ 6-361. The instrument is payable to bearer:
(1) When it is expressed to be so payable; or
(2) When it is payable to a person named therein or bearer; or
(3) When it is payable to the order of a fictitious or nonexisting or
living person not intended to have any interest in it, and such fact was
known to the person making it so payable, or known to his employee or
other agent who supplied the name of such payee; or
(4) When the name of the payee does not purport to be the name
of any person; or .
(5) When the only or last endorsement, is an endorsement in blank.
