CHAPTER 145
AN ACT to amend and reenact § 54-788 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to the appointment, qualification, terms and succession of members
of the Real Estate Commission. [H 103]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
aa That § 54-738 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 54-738. The Commission shall consist of * five members whose
vocation for a period of at least five years prior to the date of their
sppomement shall have been that of a real estate broker or a real estate
esman.
The current terms of members are continued to their normal expira-
tion. The two additional members provided for by this section shall be
appointed by the Governor for terms of one and three years, respectively,
beginning on July one, nineteen hundred fifty-six, and until their succes-
sors are appointed and qualify. After the effective date hereof the suc-
cessors of all * members shall be appointed by the Governor for terms of
* five years each and until their successors are appointed and qualify.
Members to fi vacancies shall be appointed for the unexpired term.
No member shall be appointed to succeed himself for more than one
term. No member who is in office on the effective date of this section shall
be appointed to succeed himself for more than one term after the exptra-
tton of his then current term.
