CHAPTER 123

AN ACT to amend and reenact § 5-16 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to appointment and terms of members of the Advisory Committee
on Aviation.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 5-16 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:

§ 5-16. The members of the Committee shall be appointed by the
Governor for terms of four years each, beginning on July first of the year
of appointment; provided, however, no person shall be eligible to serve
for or during more than two successive four-year terms; but after the
expiration of the remainder of an unexpired term to which appointed,
two additional four-year terms may be served by such a member if
appointed thereto. An appointment to fill a vacancy shall be for the un-
expired term. The incumbency during the current term when this a’
ment takes effect shall constitute the first of the two successive terms
with respect to eligibility for appointment.
