An Act to amend and reenact § 37-27 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
appointment and terms of the State Hospital Board. 9,8, 1ET

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
Me That § 37-27 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 37-27. The Board shall consist of seven members to be appointed
by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the General Assembly, if in
session when such appointment is made, and if not in session, then at its
next succeeding session. Appointments shall be made for terms of four
years each, to run from the expiration of the respective terms of the present
incumbents, except appointments to fill vacancies, which shall be for the
unexpired terms. No person shall be eligible to serve more than two suc-
cessive terms; provided that persons heretofore or hereafter appointed to
fill vacancies may serve two additional successive terms. Incuwmbency
during a current term when this amendment becomes effective shall con-
stitute the first of the two successive terms with respect to eligibility for
appointment.
