CHAPTER 104
An Act to amend and reenact § 68-15 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
term of office of members of the Board of Welfare and Institutions;
and their suspension or removal. [S. B. 186]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
i That § 63-15 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 63-15. Two members of the Board shall be appointed for a term of
two years; two shall be appointed for a term of three years and two shall
be appointed for a term of four years. Thereafter the members of the
Board shall be appointed for terms of four years each beginning from the
expiration of the respective terms of their predecessors, except an ap-
pointment to fill a vacancy shall be for the unexpired term. No person shall
be eligible to serve for or during more than two successive terms; provided,
however, any person heretofore or hereafter appointed to fill a vacancy may
be eligible for two additional successive terms after the term of the vacancy
for which he was appointed has expired; and incumbency during the cur-
rent term when this amendment takes effect constitutes the first of the two
successive terms with respect to eligibility for appointment. Members of the
State Board may be suspended or removed by the Governor at his pleasure.
