An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
59-106.1; to amend and reenact § 59-114.1 of the Code of Virginia; to
repeal §§ 59-107 to 59-111, inclusive, § 59-118, and § 59-114 as amended,
of the Code of Virginia; all of which sections relate to livestock auction
markets.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
59-106.1 and that § 59-114.1 of the Code of Virginia be amended and re-
enacted, as follows:
§ 59-106.1. The scale house at all livestock auction markets shall be
so constructed that all parties in interest may readily observe the weighing
of livestock. The weighbeam or indicating apparatus must be so
situated that the weight indications thereon are clearly visible to public
view. Provision must be made whereby the weighmaster from his normal
weighing position has full view of the stock rack on the scale platform, the
approaches thereto and the livestock being weighed. Ready access from
the unloading platform or chutes to the scale house must be provided to
enable owners of livestock to get to the scale house in time to see their
livestock weighed. A sign clearly visible to public view shall be affixed on
or adjacent to the scale house with the following legend in letters at least
three inches in height: TO AVOID COMPLAINTS WATCH LIVESTOCK
WEIGHED.
§ 59-114.1. <A type registering weighbeam or an automatic weight
recorder shall be installed and used with proper tickets for weighing live-
stock * at all livestock auction markets. *
2. §8§ 59-107 to 59-111, inclusive, § 59-113, and § 59-114 as amended, of
the Code of Virginia are repealed.
