An Act to amend Chapter 184 of the Acts of Assembly of 1984, approved
March 27, 1984, as amended, which provided for the management,
control, maintenance and operation of the Virginia Museum of Fine
Arts, by adding a new section numbered 1-b conveying certain rights
to the Museum.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That Chapter One Hundred Eighty-Four of the Acts of Assembly of
Nineteen Hundred Thirty-Four, approved March Twenty-seven, Nineteen
Hundred Thirty-four, as amended, be amended by adding a new section
numbered 1-b as follows:
Section 1-b. Subject to all other reservations contained in this act
there is hereby set apart and dedicated to the occupancy and use of the
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, in addition to property heretofore so set
aside and dedicated, all the following described portion of the Robert
Edward Lee Camp Soldiers’ Home grounds to the extent not previously set
apart and dedicated to the occupancy and use of the Museum:
Beginning at a point on the north line of Grove Avenue at the point of
intersection with the northerly extension of the west line of the western
sidewalk on Colonial Avenue, thence leaving Grove Avenue and extending
north into the Soldiers’ Home grounds along a line parallel to the west line
of the Boulevard six hundred twenty-six and forty-eight hundredths feet
to a point, thence east and at right angles with said last named line three
hundred ninety-seven and seventy-three hundredths feet running in part
along the southern boundary of the land heretofore conditionally set apart
for the United Daughters of the Confederacy, to the west line of the
Boulevard, thence along the western line of the Boulevard to the northwest
intersection of the Boulevard and Grove Avenue and thence along the north
line of Grove Avenue to the point of beginning.
It is hereby expressly provided that no building shall be erected north
of the new wing now under construction for the Museum and all parking
facilities that may be provided by the Museum on the additional property
described above shall be available for the use of all other institutions
located in the R. E. Lee Camp Confederate Memorial Park. It is further
provided that a bronze tablet shall be erected by the Museum at the en-
trance to such property bearing the inscription “R. E. LEE CAMP CON-
FEDERATE MEMORIAL PARK”. It is further provided that, without
impairing the rights of use hereinabove granted, title to such additional
property shall remain in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
