CHAPTER 58

An Act to amend and reenact § 46-272 of the Code of Virginia, relating to
spotlights and ditch lights on motor vehicles and motorcycles and the
use thereof.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 46-272 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted, as
follows:

§ 46-272. Any motor vehicle or motorcycle may be equipped with
not to exceed * two spotlights or two ditch lights which when lighted shall
be aimed and used so that no portion of the beam will be directed to the
left of the center of the highway at any time or more than one hundred
feet ahead of the vehicle and shall be of a type that has been approved
by the Superintendent. No such spotlights shall be used in conjunction
with or as a substitute for required headlights, except in case of emergency.
