An Act to amend and reenact § 8-870 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to vacation powers of chancery judges and the effect of vacation
decrees and orders.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
oa That § 8-370 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 8-370. Judges of courts exercising chancery jurisdiction shall have
the same jurisdictional powers over chancery causes in vacation as is
conferred upon such courts in term *. Chancery causes * submitted in
term, may be decided in vacation without * notice. * Decrees and orders
in vacation, heretofore or hereafter signed at any place in this State,
shall have the same force and effect as if made in term, but the lien of
such decree or order shall take effect only from the time of day at which
it is received by the clerk to be entered of record.
